Objective:

Design an exciting, timeless, and economic promotional poster for the Middleweight Boxing Championship match between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs.

Solution:

In the design of this poster, the emphasis is placed on the typographic elements rather than the typical photo-based promotional materials. The typography draws inspiration from vintage letter-press posters and Mexican Lucha Libre promotional posters. A custom border was crafted around the image of the boxers, infusing the composition with an energetic quality reminiscent of the Italian Futurist movement of the early 20th century. The printing method chosen is cost-effective, utilizing black silkscreen on green, red, or blue paper, with the colors referencing the national colors of the featured fighters.
